POLICE: Home invasion in Dagsboro; investigation ongoing

Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that happened early Sunday morning north of Dagsboro.

According to reports, the incident happened around 2:20 AM when police responded to the 30000 block of Power Plant Road for a report of a home invasion robbery. 

Upon arrival, police said they came into contact with a 51-year-old male victim who told police that someone knocked on his door and when he opened it, five black male suspects forced their way into his home.

The victim said they were armed with guns and wore masks.

Police said two of the suspects held him at gunpoint while other suspects ransacked his trailer before taking his cell phone. 

Prior to fleeing the trailer, one of the suspects struck the victim's head with a weapon causing a laceration to his head. Another suspect then tied the victim. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the five suspects wore black clothing with their faces covered and they were all armed.
