Officials: Somerset Co. fire results in over $150K in damages; investigation ongoing

A Somerset County house fire remains under investigation after officials say the incident resulted in over $150,000 in total damages. 

The Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal says on Sunday, around 1:17 AM, the Marion Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at a one story home in the 7200 block of River Road. Authorities say the fire was discovered by the Somerset county Sheriff's Office. Officials say 35 firefighters worked to put out the fire in an hour. No one was injured as result of the fire.

According to the report, the incident resulted in $170,000 in total estimated damages. The cause of the fire and where it began is unclear at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal.
