Man arrested on multiple charges after rollover crash in Del.
A Delaware man is facing multiple charges after police say he was under the influence when he allegedly crashed into a parked car.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department says on Wednesday, around 9:30 PM, officers were called to the second block of Olive Avenue for a report of a vehicle collision. Once on scene, officers say they found a silver Chevrolet Equinox with Delaware registration plates flipped over on its roof in the roadway. Police say the vehicle collided with a parked car before rolling onto its roof.
According to the report, the driver, 39-year-old Justin Anders left the scene, but authorities were able to locate him in a nearby hotel lobby with the assistance of witnesses. Police say the Bear man showed signs of intoxication and was administered standardized field sobriety tests.
The 39-year-old was arrested and taken to Beebe Medical Campus for blood alcohol analysis.
Authorities say no one was injured and both vehicles were disabled as a result of the crash.
Anders was charged with one count of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, one count of reckless driving, one count of leaving the scene of a property damage collision, one count of failing to provide information at a property damage collision scene, one count of failing to report a collision to a police agency, one count of failure to have registration card in possession, one count of failure to have proof of insurance and one count of failure to comply with taking of photos and fingerprints.
He was then turned over to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $2,000 secured bail.
