Caroline County participates in National Summer Learning Day to promote summer reading

Despite school being out, Caroline County public libraries wants to make sure books are still in the hands of students. That's why the county's public schools and library are joining in on National Summer Learning Day Thursday.

During the event, they are encouraging children to put down the phone and pick up a book. They want children to continue learning during the summer months.

On Saturday, the library will host open screening sessions to see if your child is meeting their developmental milestones. The event will take place from 11:30 AM to 3 PM at the central library.

Also, the first Friday in August, Caroline County Social Services is hosting a back to school give away, passing out supplies.
