Salisbury man convicted of sex abuse against a family member
A Maryland man is awaiting sentencing after he was convicted of sexually abusing a family member who was less than 14 years old.
Keith Chaney, age 56, of Salisbury committed the offense between 2006 and 2008 in Salisbury, against a family member who was under the age of 14 at the time.
On Wednesday May 30, Chaney, was convicted by a Wicomico County jury of sex abuse in the third degree. The continued sentencing is now pending a presentence investigation.
Wicomico County Ad Interim State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes commended the members of the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center for their work in the investigation. Dykes specifically commended the lead investigator, Detective Schultz and also thanked Karen Dean, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney, who prosecuted this case.
