Residents celebrate National Donut Day
Residents visited local donut shops to get their hands on more donuts on National Donut Day on Friday.
Local shops offered a buy one, get one free donuts, offering a variety of flavors like the traditional chocolate or strawberry and vanilla.
Kellyn's Kafe also joined in on the holiday to offer residents a chance to enjoy more of their original donuts.
"Donuts are just a good dessert, and we learn to have different kinds from different places, and we enjoy their donuts," said a resident and customer at the donut shop.
The national holiday was started by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the group's "donut lassies" who served treats to soldiers on the front lines.
