Police: Shots fired at women during Del. shooting; investigation ongoing

A shooting remains under investigation after police say the suspects shot at two women in Delaware.

The Dover Police Department says on Tuesday, just before 11:20 PM, a shooting happened in the area of Periwinkle Drive and Caroline Place, in Dover. Police say they responded to the location for a report of shots fired. Once on scene, officers learned that two unknown male suspects approached the intersection on foot and began shooting towards two female victims who were standing near the roadway. 

Authorities say the suspects then fled south on Caroline Place to an unknown location.

According to the report, none of the victims were injured, but an unoccupied vehicle was struck by gunfire and several shell casings were found on scene. 

This incident remains under investigation.
