One in custody after cash and multiple drugs found in Md. motel room
A man was arrested after police say LSD, marijuana, prescription pills, and other drugs were found in a Maryland motel room.
The Ocean City Police Department says on Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a motel in the area of 1st street and Baltimore Avenue, where they seized several pounds of marijuana, over 300 prescription pills, and a large amount of mushrooms, LSD, MDMA, and additional drug paraphernalia in a tenant's room.
Police say the sole tenant of the room, 19-year-old Justin L. Culley had not checked out at the scheduled time. According to the report, when staff entered the room to clean and re-rent the room, a large amount of drugs were seen in plain view in the room. Police were then called to the scene. In addition to the drugs that were seized, a K-9 team scanned the suspect's vehicle where additional mushrooms and over $1,100 in cash was located.
Authorities report that Culley, of Enola, PA, eventually returned to the motel hours later and was arrested.
He was charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute LSD, possession of marijuana over 10 grams, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The Pennsylvania man is currently being held at the Worcester County Jail without bond.
