One dead following two-vehicle accident in Accomack County

One man was killed yesterday after a serious car crash in Accomack County.

According to the Virginia State Police, the incident happened around 6:54 AM at the intersection of Daugherty Road and Route 13. 

Officials say 38-year-old Vicent M. Barrett failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a Ford tow truck that traveled northbound on Route 13. 

The driver was in a 2009 Nissan Altima.

According to police, Barrett from Cheriton, Virginia was not wearing his seat belt and died at the scene from sustained injuries. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the tow truck suffered minor non-life threatening injuries.
