Maryland Primary Election results for Dorchester County and Caroline County

The Maryland State Board of Elections reports the following results for local offices in Dorchester County and Caroline County. 

These individuals will be listed on the 2018 General Election ballot in November.

Dorchester County: 

District 1- Democratic candidate Jay Leonard Newcomb  received the District 1 nomination with 65.3 percent of the vote over Democratic candidate Betsy Hughes.  Newcomb will be listed on the general election ballot opposing Republican Don B. Saterfield.

District 2 – There was no opposition for Democratic candidate William Nichols for Dorchester County District 2. Nichols is the incumbent Councilman for Dorchester County District 2.

District 3 – Democratic candidate Ricky C Travers Sr. was also unopposed in the 2018 Maryland Primary Election for District 3. He is the incumbent Councilman for Dorchester County District 3.

District 4 –  Republican Lenny Pfeffer received over 52.1 percent of the vote against fellow Republican candidate and Incumbent Councilman Rick Price. Pfeffer will be the new District 4 Councilman in Dorchester County.   

District 5 – Republican Libby Nagel won the District 5 spot over Incumbent Councilman Thomas Bradshaw. Nagel received 58.4 percent of the votes in Dorchester County.

Caroline County: 

Joe Riley received 52.5 percent of the votes for Caroline County State's Attorney. Republican Candidate Riley beat out Maureen D. Keogh for the spot on the November ballot. He is the current Ad Interim State's Attorney for Caroline County.
