Man arrested on multiple charges after altercation at Del. apartment
A man was arrested at a hospital after police say he violated a protective order with his involvement in an altercation at a Milford apartment.
The Milford Police Department says on Sunday, just before 2:00 PM, their patrol division responded to an apartment in Silver Lake Estates for a report of an altercation. Police say their investigation revealed that 30-year-old Michael Scott, of Magnolia, and the victim were involved in a verbal exchange. At that time, Scott allegedly punched an exterior window of the apartment causing the glass to break. Scott apparently fled the scene before officers arrived.
According to the report, the 30-year-old also made comments that led the victim to believe he was going to return with a firearm and harm them. Authorities report that Scott was eventually located at Bayhealth as he went there for treatment for injuries reportedly sustained from punching the window.
Law enforcement says the Magnolia man was arrested without incident after being treated. Police also determined that Scott violated an active domestic violence protective order by having contact with the victim.
He is charged with criminal contempt of a domestic violence protective order involved the use or threatened use of a deadly weapon, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
The 30-year-old's bail was set at $3,000 secured and he is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court Family Court on June 18 for arraignment.
