Man arrested after allegedly kidnapping ex-girlfriend, four children

One man is behind bars facing charges of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and her four children, and holding them hostage for four days.

According to police, this all began on Friday, May 25th, when JaMar Archer arrived at Meadow Bidge Apartments, the home of his ex-girlfriend.

While the ex-girlfriend and her children were asleep, police say Archer was able to get into the apartment.

Once he was inside, police say Archer took his ex's car keys and cell phone, preventing her from being able to leave or call authorities.

Police say Archer repeatedly spit and struck the ex-girlfriend, and would not allow her or her children to leave the apartment, until the ex-girlfriend was finally able to escape four days later to a close-by family members house and call police.

Archer had previously been barred from being on the property of Meadowbridge Apartments as well.

Archer was taken into custody Friday by the Laurel Police Department and turned over the Seaford Police Department, where he is being charged with: Kidnapping 2nd Degree, Offensive Touching by another with saliva, Offensive Touching, Endangering the Welfare of a Child (4 counts), Criminal Trespass, and Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications.

Archer was committed to the Delaware Department of Corrections in lieu of $12,851.00 cash bail.
