Funding allocated for new downtown parking garage

The sum of $1 million is now being allocated to the construction of a new parking garage in downtown Dover.

The effort was led by Representative Sean Lynn after The City of Dover made the request for the funding last month.

The construction will feature 400-plus vehicle parking garage in the central downtown area.

Proponents argue that for far too long Downtown Dover has faced the issues of limited parking.

Legislators also argue this will allow reuse of existing surface parking lots for more economically viable uses, and is another sign that Dover is open for business.
