Dover Police investigating death at Firefly campgrounds

The Dover Police Department is investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman that occurred on Sunday morning.

At approximately 6:30AM, officers were alerted to an unresponsive female in Firefly Camping Lot 18 at Dover International Speedway.

Upon arrival, officers found that Caroline Friedman, from Philadelphia, PA, was unconscious at her campsite. 

Friedman was treated on scene by medical staff and transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

Friedman was an attendee of the 2018 Firefly Music Festival being hosted at Dover International Speedway.

Officials say the cause of Friedman's death is currently unknown, but is not the result of foul play. 

An official cause of death is dependent upon autopsy and toxicology results.
