A Maryland man is in custody after police say he held a woman against her will for several days.

Henry Kulesza, 57, of Federalsburg is charged with false imprisonment, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment among other charges.

Maryland State Police say they received a call Thursday morning from a women saying that Kulesza held her against her will for two days, assaulted her and threatened her with a chainsaw.   Investigators say that the woman was able to escape the residence on the 7000 block of Reliance Road in Federalsburg after Kulesza fell asleep.

When officers arrived, Kulesza had already fled but was found by troopers Thursday afternoon and surrendered without incident.

Police also discovered that Kulesza was a fugitive from Virginia for weapons charges and now Virginia authorities are requesting he be extradited.

The 57 year old is currently being held at the Caroline County Detention Center without bond.
