Atlantic General Hospital celebrates Auxiliary Thrift Shop expansion

Atlantic General Hospital celebrated with ribbon cutting the expansion of its Auxiliary Thrift Shop on Thursday, June 21.

With the expansion the thrift shop can now receive more donations including clothing, shoes, household items and other items.

Volunteers say the thrift shop has become a second home to them, and that it's a great way for those without any means of transportation to find things they need.

"It provides a lot of opportunity for people who have lack of access to shopping," said the Atlantic General Hospital CEO, Michael Franklin.

"They may not have a car or transportation, so it's an easy access to a key part of our community," said Franklin.

"It helps people like myself," said the Volunteer Coordinator, Jane Wolnick.

"I'm a widow so this is like my second home," said Wolnick.

The thrift shop will continue to be open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
