Anglers “seas the day” for 20th Annual Mako Mania
Dozens of anglers made their way out on to the water early Friday morning, to take advantage of the weather. They're all hoping to catch the biggest shark in the sea for a chance to win the 22nd annual Mako Mania fishing tournament in Ocean City.
Unlike previous years though, this year's tournament is a little different than the ones that came before it.
"This year they changed the regulations so that the minimum fish has to be 83 inches instead of 54, which is going to make it a lot more challenging. But we still have 37 boats," said Shawn Harman, owner of Fishtails and Mako Mania organizer.
Anglers will be reeling in and releasing their big catches of the day, Friday through Sunday. And weigh ins are happening at Fish Tales from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM on those days. The prize money at stake is $187 thousand total.
