UPDATE: Man convicted of two armed robberies in Salisbury

A man will spend the next few decades in prison for his role in two 2017 robberies at Salisbury stores.

The Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County says on Friday, 43-year-old Steven Nichols, of Salisbury, was convicted for his role in two robberies that happened back in 2017.

On September 1, Nichols was armed with a knife when he robbed a cashier at the Family Dollar, on South Salisbury Boulevard. Hours later, Nichols threatened to have a gun when he robbed a cashier at the Exxon Tiger Mart, on Spring Hill Road. 

Authorities report that Nichols made off with approximately $750 from the two robberies. He was taken into custody two days later.

The 43-year-old was sentenced to 30 years of active incarceration in the Division of Corrections.
