An inmate is back in custody of Delaware authorities, after law enforcement says he was arrested in Illinois following his escape from a local correctional facility last year.

The Delaware Department of Correction says on Friday, 30-year-old Jordan McGowan, of Harrington, was extradited to Delaware after he was taken into custody in Murrayville, Illinois. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office tells 47ABC that McGowan was arrested during a traffic stop on February 19.

McGowan was wanted by the Delaware DOC for escape after he did not return to the Morris Community Correctional Center (MCCC), in Dover, from an approved work pass in September 2017.

The 30-year-old was serving time for violation of probation after he and his girlfriend were arrested in connection to multiple burglaries throughout Delaware in 2016.

McGowan is being held without bail on a violation of probation at the Howard R. Young Correctional Center in Wilmington.
