Suspect sought in connection to armed robbery in Dover

Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect after they say he made off with a man's belongings including a bicycle, in Dover. 

The Dover Police Department says on Friday, around 7:15 PM, an armed robbery happened in front of New Hope Housing at 30 S. New Street. Police say a 42-year-old man was riding his bicycle from work and he stopped to talk to the unknown suspect. The suspect then reportedly asked for a cigarette. At that point, officers say the suspect showed a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings when he pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his pants. 

According to the report, the suspect fled with cash, the victim's backpack, and bicycle. 

Law enforcement says the victim could only identify the suspect as being a light-skinned black male, standing 6'02" tall, weighing 230 lbs., with afro style hair, and wearing a burgundy fleece jacket and blue jeans.

This incident remains under investigation.
