Salisbury Skate Park to Close for Construction

A beloved Skate park is temporarily closing for renovations. The Salisbury Skate Park will be closed starting Monday, April 2nd, when construction begins on phase two of the park.

According to city officials, the construction is expected to take about two and a half months. Until phase two of the park is complete no skating is allowed. Officials say the renovation will include new features including a continuation of spaces for safer skateboarding, a new quarter pipe ramp, and much more.

"I'm sure the skateboarding community is not stunned, but we're stunned at how popular it's been, and what a great asset and addition it's been to the city park, so many people are out there using it. Every single day. So it is very important, the expansion is very important and this is the second of three phases," said Salisbury Mayor Jake Day.

Day says phase three of the construction process will begin shortly after phase two is finished, and he adds that he hopes the entire skate park will be complete with renovations in the next couple of years.
