MSP: Woman injured in Chruch Hill crash; investigation ongoing

A woman was flown to shock trauma after troopers say she was injured in a crash in Queen Anne's County. 

Maryland State Police say on Monday, 3:15 PM, troopers responded to the area of Church Hill Road, north of Clannihan Shop Road, in reference to a serious crash. Once on scene, troopers say a silver 2000 Cadillac Escalade, driven by a 30-year-old Chestertown woman, was involved in the accident. 

According to the report, the Chestertown woman as traveling southbound on Church Hill Road, north of Clannihan Shop Road, when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and collided with a telephone pole and a tree, just off the southbound side of the road.

Authorities say the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and she trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the crash. MSP reports that the 30-year-old had to be removed  from the vehicle by emergency personnel, and she was flown to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, in Baltimore.

Troopers say the vehicle sustained extensive damage as a result of the crash. Speed appears to be a factor in this crash.

Law enforcement says this investigation is ongoing and the name of the driver is being withheld at this time.
