Mountaire hosts annual ‘Thanksgiving at Easter’ to feed families in need

With Easter around the corner, one company in Selbyville got into the spirit by packing meals for those in need this upcoming holiday.

Mountaire stuffed 2,500 boxes with nutritious items that will go to feed up to 11,000 people. Each box is packed with a seven-pound chicken along with other cans of vegetables.

It’s all a part of their thanksgiving trilogy that starts with their Thanksgiving for Thousands event, then another event during Christmas, and finally their Thanksgiving at Easter event which they held today.

Mountaire says over 100 volunteers came out.

They say the motive behind it is to give back to the community and help anyone going through a difficult time.  We're told the boxes are heading to churches across Delmarva to be distributed to families in need.
