Mayor of Dover discusses latest efforts to combat homelessness

The City of Dover continues to take steps towards decreasing homelessness.

Back in the fall, the mayor says he appointed several community members and activists to a Blue Ribbon Task Force.

That task force was created to help come up with solutions for homelessness.

The mayor says one of the main issues the task force has identified so far is the lack of affordable housing, something the City of Dover is hoping to work on.

The mayor has since asked the task force to issue a report, and they are now waiting on the results.

Mayor Robin Christianson said, "We are looking for them to issue a report that addresses a comprehensive plan to end homelessness."

The Task Force is due to report back to the Mayor and City Council by mid-April or early May.
