Man charged in connection with Talbot Co. strong armed robbery

A man is in custody after police say he was involved in a robbery where he stomped on the victim's neck and stole their property, in Talbot County. 

The Easton Police Department says on Sunday, a strong armed robbery happened in the the area of South Lane and South Aurora Street. Police say 42-year-old Marvin Jacobs, homeless of Easton, struck a person in the back of the head and face with closed hands and stomped on the victim's neck. Law enforcement says Jacobs then  took $83.00 and the victims prepaid cellphone. 

Officers report that a broadcast was given to other officers working of Jacobs's description, and shortly after the initial call, another officer located Jacobs in the area of South Locust Street and South Street. According to the report, the 42-year-old  became resistive and combative when an officer approached him. Authorities say several officers were then called to the area and Jacobs was taken into custody.

Police say a search of Jacobs revealed a small amount of crack cocaine. 

Jacobs was charged with robbery, assault second degree, theft under $1000 value, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance not marijuana.

He is currently being held in the Talbot County Detention Center without bond.
