Del. man arrested on multiple charges after Dover hit and run crash
A man is facing DUI and weapons charges after troopers say he was involved in a hit and run crash, in Dover.
Delaware State Police say on Saturday, just before 1:40 PM, Troopers were dispatched to North Dupont Highway (Route 13), at Messina Hill Road, for a reported hit and run crash. Troopers say further investigation revealed that a black Ford F-150 had side struck a Ford Fusion while it was traveling in the right lane of Route. 13. After hitting the vehicle, authorities report that the truck continued southbound on Route 13.
According to the report, calls were later received stating that a black Ford F-150 was driving on three wheels and it had pulled into a newly constructed commercial property off of Jerome Drive. Law enforcement says they soon arrived at the location and encountered the driver, 22-year-old Marcos Godoy of Middletown. At that point, troopers say they noticed an odor of marijuana.
DSP reports that Godoy was detained and a search of the vehicle led tot he discovery of 12.3 grams of marijuana and an unloaded Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun with one magazine and 11 rounds of ammunition.
Godoy was charged with driving under the influence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, and other traffic related offenses.
He was released on a $25,775 unsecured bond.
