Caroline County Humane Society hoping to raise big bucks through Blue Jean Ball

Caroline County Humane Society is hosting one of the biggest fundraisers and they're asking for help from the community.

They say they want you to come out to the event and give back to the animals at their shelter.

This year they are hosting a Blue Jean Ball, which is more laid back and causal. They'll also have a talent show and silent auction.

The Humane Society says they do receive some money from the county but these fundraisers are really what keeps them going. All the proceeds go straight to their shelter for general needs, but also for their animal care fund which provides assistance for any pet that needs it.

Connie Cook from the Humane Society Board of Directors says, "We have 1,400 animals coming in the shelter every year and obviously some of them need veterinary care, even just the day to day to care and then we have emergencies that arise, so we are always in need of money for our animal care fund."

They are an open door shelter, which means no animal will be turned away. But in order to keep doing that, they need these funds to help them to continue to run their business successfully.

Tickets for the blue jean ball are still available on their Facebook page or in person at the shelter.
