VDOT: Mt. Prospect Bridge opens after road work in Accomack Co.

Transportation officials say a bridge is now open over 60 days ahead of the road work completion schedule, in Accomack County.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says Route 1002 (Mt. Prospect Bridge), over Onancock Creek, reopened to traffic on February 9, which was 67 days ahead of the revised completion date.

Officials say the work included replacing and repairing both bridge supports, replacing sheet piling on both sides, and repaving both roadway approaches. Mclean Contracting Company apparently worked on the project.
