A Harbeson man will spend the next two decades in prison for his role in the death of his 8-month-old child.

The Delaware Department of Justice says on Friday, 40-year-old Doyle Hundley, of Harbeson, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the 2015 murder of his infant son. Hundley pleaded guilty to the charge of murder by neglect first degree in May 2017.

In May 2015, Hundley and the baby's mother, 30-year-old Casey Layton, called 911 saying Aiden was unresponsive. the two were the sole care-takers of three-month-old Aiden. Aiden later died after five months on life support for multiple broken bones and a serious head injury. Examinations apparently showed that the child suffered from the multiple injures and was malnourished.

Layton also plead guilty to her role is the death of the child and was sentenced in January 2018.

Proposed House Bill 268, otherwise known as "Aiden's Law", is named after three-month old Aiden Hundley.
