Two injured in Georgetown fire; investigation ongoing

A fire remains under investigation, after officials say two people were injured as a result of the incident, in Georgetown.

The Georgetown Fire Company says on Wednesday just before 12:10 PM, they responded to a flash fire at a home on Teaberry Lane. Officials say the fire was contained to the garage and it was under control when the Deputy fire chief responded.

According to fire officials, an elderly woman and a man in his 50s or 60s were taken to Beebe Hopsital in critical condition. Authorities say they sustained severe burns.

The Ellendale and Millsboro Fire Companies also assisted in controlling the fire.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
