Sussex County Habitat for Humanity dedicates two rehabilitated homes

Sussex County's Habitat for Humanity dedicated two rehabilitated homes in Laurel's Old Town Neighborhood for two well deserving families. Both homes were funded by the strong neighborhoods grant that provided $500,000 for the rehabilitation. The two homes are apart of a 10 home affordable housing program where the goal is to renew the neighborhood of old town turning it into a new town.

"This project is really taking what's called old town Laurel where it was originally started right here on these blocks and making it new town Laurel in the sense of renovating or revitalizing this area of downtown Laurel. When you look down this street in a couple of years it will look very different than it does today," said Executive Director for Sussex County's Habitat for Humanity, Kevin Gilmore.

There were more than 300 volunteers that helped per house in rebuilding the new homes.
