Police: Suspect arrested; man wanted after traffic stop finds drugs in Milford
Police say that one suspect was arrested and another suspect is wanted, after a traffic stop netted drugs in Milford, on Saturday, January 27.
According to Milford Police, on Saturday, January 27 at 12:06 p.m., the Patrol Division stopped a blue Nissan Sentra in the area of South Marshal Street and S.E. Fourth Street, for a traffic violation.
As officers stopped the car, the passenger of the vehicle reportedly ran away. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Kori Leager of Harrington. A search incident led to the arrest of Leager and it revealed that she reportedly had drug paraphernalia.
During a search of Leager at Milford Police Department, it was allegedly discovered that she had crack cocaine. Investigators say that the passenger in the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Evelio Alvarez of Ellendale.
Leager was charged with possess/consume a controlled or counterfeit substance with an aggravating factor. She had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court three and was released on $500 unsecured bail.
She was also issued a traffic citation for failure to have required insurance and possession of marijuana (civil violation.) She was ordered to appear in the Justice of the Peace Court at a later date in reference to this case.
Officers obtained a warrant for Alvarez in reference to this incident. Alvarez is wanted on several warrants out of various courts. Milford Police urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alvarez to call 302-422-8081 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be submitted online.
