Police: Multiple suspects scared off by family pet during attempted burglary in Dover

Police are searching for multiple individuals, after they say the men were involved in an attempted burglary and were scared off by the family pet, in Dover.

The Dover Police Department says on Tuesday, just before 2:00 AM, three to four black males kicked the front door open to a residence in the 100 block of Teak Court. The suspects also reportedly yelled "Dover Police" as the kicked the door open.

Authorities say as soon as the front was kicked open, the family dog charged towards the door, causing the suspects to flee eastbound on foot towards the Lexington Glen development. 

The suspect apparently did enter the residence.

The incident remains under investigation.
