Officials: Property demolition set Feb. 23 in Salisbury; E. Isabella St. closes

On Thursday, officials announce an upcoming property demolition that will result in a street closure, in Salisbury.

The City of Salisbury reports that the City Field Operation team will be demolishing the current building located at 711 East Isabella Street to make room for new development. Officials say the demolition is happening in an effort to continue the investment in Salisbury neighborhoods.

According to officials, the demolition will happen on Friday, and East Isabella Street, between Linwood Avenue and Davis Street, will be closed from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The property has apparently been abandoned for over five years, and official say it is unfit for human occupancy.

City officials say this redevelopment is part of an ongoing effort to make the Church Street neighborhood a safer, more welcoming area for its residents.
