No one hurt after multiple companies respond to ammonia leak in Federalsburg

Officials say that no one was hurt after an ammonia leak in Federalsburg, on Sunday morning.

According to the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company, firefighters responded to a building on Industrial Park Drive at 7:01 a.m., on Sunday morning, for a reported ammonia leak.

Officials say that the leak happened after there was a hole in a pipe. No one was injured and maintenance workers had to evacuate from the building.

Multiple companies reportedly responded to assist in isolating the leak, including a Salisbury Hazmat Team, Preston, Hurlock, Cambridge and Salisbury Volunteer Fire Companies.

The leak took three hours to control.
