Girl Scouts Cookies Arrive
If you're still trying to figure out what kind of snacks and goodies you're bringing to your Super Bowl party…well we have an idea. Girl Scouts Cookies.
The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay have announced the arrival of their first order of the year. On Saturday, leaders sorted through the order to deliver to local troops.
We're told a portion of the sales goes back to the troops so they can use on field trips and community service projects.
"It is more than just our customers buying a box of cookies to our girls. This program is a cookie program and teaches them five skills. For example goal setting. They also have to learn how to deal with customers, and often times this is a girl's first sale experience so it is really important. And it also builds their self-confidence and leadership skills," says Denise Eberspeaker, the Chief Development Officer for the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay.
Startling Friday, February 9th Girl Scout troops will begin their booth sales. Folks can also donate to Operation Taste of Home which is one of their initiatives to get cookies to troops overseas as well as local food banks and cancer centers.
