Talbot Co. house fire causes over $100K in damages; one sustained minor injury

A fire caused over $100,000 in estimated total damages, after officials say there were no fire alarms in the Talbot County home at the time of the fire.

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Sunday, just after 6:00 PM, The Queen Anne's Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 13800 block of Old Wye Mils Road, in Wye Mills. Fire officials say there was no fire alarm in the home.

According to the report, 35 firefighters put out the blaze in 20 minutes. Officials say the fire started in the bedroom and one person in the home sustained a superficial burn injury to their hand. The estimated total loss as a result of the fire is reportedly $120,000.

This incident remains under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
