Officials: Mardela Springs chicken house damaged after fire; investigation ongoing
A chicken house fire remains under investigation after officials say it caused $300,000 in damages, in Mardela Springs.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Tuesday, just before 3:45 PM, the Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to a chicken house fire, in the 2500 block of E. Hurleys Neck Road.
According to the report, 42 firefighters worked to put out the blaze in 35 minutes. The fire apparently began inside the chicken house causing $300,000 in damages.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
