Local lawmakers comment on government shutdown

Delmarva could still see the affects of a congressional stalemate.

Fortunately for many of us, we'll be unaffected during our daily routine.

Friday morning, the Hogan administration announced that all state agencies will remain open amid a government shutdown.

This means citizens who receive or use services provided by the state will continue to have access.

As for those who are federal employees, lawmakers say they have options.

Senator Addie Eckardt said, "The governor made an announcement that Maryland would remain open for business during whatever constitutes the government shut down to be able to provide resources and services for Marylanders and federal employees who may be affected by it."

Those who have questions about the shut down are encouraged to seek help from their state.
