Main Street organization refunded

Rehoboth Beach commissioners have decided to invest $20,000 in its Main Street organization.   Main Street is part of a nationwide program formed to revitalize downtowns and commercial districts.

This revitalization is done through preservation-based economic development and community revitalization.

This organization has been helping to revitalize Rehoboth, and help new businesses for two decades by providing packets of useful information on city rules to new businesses and residents, as well as helping with community beautification projects.

"It's more than events, it's also partnerships, facade grants, sign grants, so the way Rehoboth looks today, Main Street had a huge play in that," says Commissioner Kathy McGuiness.

Main Street is currently refining its business plan, including activities such as guidance for new businesses, and sponsoring events.
