Christmas concert in Ocean City hoping to fight heroin epidemic through music
One father is trying to fight the heroin epidemic through music in Ocean City.
It's a Christmas show for children happening this Sunday called Brian's Christmas Songbook at the Performing Arts Center.
The organizer, Tony Christ, lost his son 13 years ago, but he's hoping that his memory can help others.
It will be a narration by a bereaved father telling the story of Christmas and talking to his son and his childhood friends.
The narration will weave in and out of 15 songs by the Mid Atlantic Symphony Orchestra.
Children will even be invited on to the stage to participate.
They hope the power of music can leave an impression on children.
Christ tells 47 ABC, "Brian's symbolic of the 100,000 young adults we've lost in the last 5 years and we want them to talk directly through the music to the kids today."
All tickets are free. Two shows taking place this Sunday:
- 12 till about 1:20 PM
- 4 PM till about 5:20 PM
