Milford drug and prostitution investigation leads to three arrests

Three people are facing charges, after police say they were arrested in connection with a drug and prostitution investigation at a motel, in Milford.

The Milford Police Department says on Wednesday, their Drug Unit was assisted by the Criminal Investigations Unit and Patrol Division in executing a search warrant on a room at the Traveler's Inn Motel, on North Walnut Street. Police say the warrant stemmed from an investigation into the sale of heroin and prostitution from that specific motel room.

According to the report, 66-year-old Dwight Donaldson, of Milford, war arrested at the motel office without incident. Authorities report that 29-year-old Melinda Reed and 23-year-old Sarah Reed, both of Milford, were arrested in the room during the search. Officers say that during the search, they found suspected heroin, related drug paraphernalia, and items related to prostitution.

Milford PD reports that while searching Donaldson, they found a undisclosed amount of cash which was alleged to be proceeds from the sale of illicit drugs and prostitution. After further investigation, police learned that Melinda Reed was involved in prostitution using that motel room.

Donaldson, Melinda Reed, and Sarah Reed were all charged with manufactures Or possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit substance and possession of drug paraphernalia (non-marijuana). Melinda Reed was also charged with prostitution.

According to police, Donaldson and Melinda Reed were turned over to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,100 bail and $1,200, respectively. Sarah Reed was also turned over to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,500 bail.
