Severe storm causes damages in Salisbury

On Monday, a severe storm ripped through the peninsula, causing damage to power lines, homes, and even overturning vehicles in Salisbury.

The storm brought heavy rain and strong winds.The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings throughout the day as the storm moved over Delmarva. There was severe damage that could be seen along Route 13 near Salisbury University, where car was overturned in a nearby shopping center. 

According to Meteorologist Bridget DeRosa of the National Weather Service, in Wakefield, VA, wind speeds and damage to an area are two factors that determine if a tornado happened. DeRosa said that a team from the National Weather Service will come to Delmarva tomorrow to a evaluate the damage in Salisbury.
