Dover Veterans Job Fair

Delmarva veterans participated in a job fair tailored just for them on Tuesday in Dover. Nearly 40 employers were on-site collecting resumes and talking to prospective employees.

Tuesday's  job fair was held at Wilmington University's Dover campus from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The job fair was sponsored by three senators, including Tom Carper.

A  veteran himself, Carper says this event helps companies and job seekers.

"We have today in Dover about 40 employers and we'll have somewhere between 40 and 80 veterans who will come and find work and jobs in many cases. There can be a job out here that needs to be filled and there could be someone out here looking for a job. There needs to be an effort to pull them together."

If you missed today's event, there will be a second job fair held by the lawmakers.

That's slated to take place at the Middletown Fire Hall on September 15th.
