Deputies: Man arrested after hitting Talbot County Roads Dept. official
A man is facing assault charges, after deputies say he drove through a closed road and purposely hit a roads department official, in Talbot County.
The Talbot County Sheriff's Office says on August 18, 79-year-old Colin Pattenden, of Royal Oak, drove through Station Road when it was closed for repairs by the Talbot County Roads Department. According to the report, Pattenden ignored direction from county employees, and intentionally hit Warren Edwards, the Talbot County Roads Superintendent, who was trying to stop him from injuring other employees. Deputies say a warrant was issued for Pattenden's arrest.
Authorities report that Pattenden was arrested at his home, on Wednesday. He was charged with first and second degree assault and negligent driving.
Pattenden was later released on personal recognizance.
