Police looking for Princess Anne assault and robbery suspect

Police say that they are searching for a suspect who allegedly broke into a victim's car and struck the victim with a hammer in Princess Anne on Friday morning.

According to Maryland State Police, on Friday at 5:30 a.m., the Princess Anne Barracks received a call from a victim saying that at 5:00 a.m., he awoke to the sound of breaking glass.

Police say that the victim said that he looked outside to see a man identified as Kenneth Joseph Passwaters breaking the window on his car and rummaging through the glove box.

According to the victim, the victim then confronted Passwaters and Passwaters allegedly struck the victim in the head with a hammer causing minor superficial injuries.

Police then searched the area but they were unable to find Passwaters. Passwaters is currently wanted for several outstanding warrants, along with charges arising from this incident which include robbery, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft, malicious destruction of property and rogue/vagabond.
