Two charged after allegedly throwing drugs from a moving car
Officials say that two people were arrested on Friday afternoon after reportedly throwing syringes and heroin from a vehicle in Salisbury.
According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, on Friday at 5:34 p.m., deputies stopped a car being driven by 26-year-old James Jarrett of Eden, for committing a stop sign violation.
During the encounter, it was reportedly found that Jarrett and passenger, 34-year-old Rhea Styers of Salisbury, had thrown several items from the car before stopping. Upon finding the items, deputies say they found that the pair had thrown 78 syringes along with baggies with heroin from their moving car.
Both Styers and Jarrett were arrested and transported to the Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.
Following a first appearance, Styers was detained in the Detention Center on a bond of $2,500 while Jarrett was released on personal recognizance.
