Police: Dover man arrested with 5,200 bags of heroin

A Dover man was arrested Monday morning on multiple drug charges after police reportedly found 5,200 bags of heroin following a traffic stop.

At around 10:45 AM, officers with the Dover Police Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole stopped 36-year-old Devron Powell in a traffic stop in the area of North State Street and Division Street.

According to police, a search of Powell's vehicle revealed 5,200 bags of heroin, 1.3 grams in marijuana and more than $1,000 in cash in suspected drug proceeds. Powell was additionally driving on a suspended driver's license, police said.

Officers arrested Powell without incident. Police say Powell will face charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
