Devreco aims to repurpose old Labinal building

Devreco purchases old Labinal building

The old Labinal building in Salisbury is set to get a facelift thanks to Devreco. The company recently purchased the 160,000 square foot facility for $2.3 million.

Labinal packed up and left down in 2016 leaving the building and taking many jobs with them.

Devreco principal owner Brad Gillis said he believes the structure still has good bones and sees a bright future.

He explains they plan to give the front of the building a facelift and make other improvement to make it more attractive to potential suitors.

"The future's pretty bright in Wicomico County and Salisbury and to have this available economic resource, we just saw a great opportunity to purchase the building and do what we do as developers and that is re-purpose this property and bring it back to life," Gillis said.

Gillis said he believes the building could be re-purposed so it can be used as possibly an office building or for light manufacturing or light industry work.

Gillis adds they expect to have shovels in the ground by the end of the year.
