OUT IN THE COMMUNITY

The 40th Annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake roared back onto the political scene this past Wednesday with a Who’s Who of elected officials in attendance. 47 ABC partnered with the Insurance Market to celebrate the start of the political season as well as enjoy some really good food and entertain many of our clients. Despite an intermittent breeze off the water and more moderate temperatures than normally occur during the event, it was still plenty hot! The town of Crisfield, as always, was organized and everything went off without a hitch. We had an Early Team (pictured) go down at 7:30AM that morning to set up and get everything organized. By the time I arrived shortly before 11, we were just about ready to go. The event ran from noon to 4PM. Thanks to the entire Team for all you did to make this client-centered event a huge success.

The Delaware State Fair kicked off this past Thursday and, if you’ve never worked on the project, you’ll have to take my word for just how much work it takes to get ready to deliver our evening newscasts live from a remote location for ten straight days! It was extra challenging this year because we had to deliver it without benefit of our live truck. Jeff scrambled to work out an alternate delivery system with the folks at the Fair and Drew was everywhere, working with Mike and Josh to ensure that all the details were taken care of. I was able to get up there Friday and snapped this shot when Senator Carper dropped by for an interview with Lenita. Daniel and Lili braved the heat to deliver reports from outside and Randy (from Froggy) did an impromptu promotion with us for Family Feud. David and Emily anchored from Salisbury. Everyone on the news team had an integral role to play to make it happen and everyone was right on point. Today is the half way mark of the Delaware State Fair. I hope you all have an opportunity to get up there at least once. The Fair closes down on the 30th.

THE NIELSEN SWEEPS PERIOD REMINDER: The Nielsen July Sweeps Period wraps up on Wednesday. Thanks to everyone who pulled together to deliver a quality product.
